HeadlinesKudos or Knocks The Wharf Road debacle By maritimemag September 13, 2020 ShareTweet 0 It is not funny to hear that the Wharf road recently constructed by AG Dangote Construction Nigeria Limited at a whooping sum of over N4.34 billion is dilapidating. The road has been blocked for maintenance in some parts in less than two years of its reconstruction.Recall that the same road had attracted accolades across Lagos and its environs when Flour Mills Plc and Dangote signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)with the Minister of Works in June, 2017.With such huge sum committed to the project and seeing that it has started giving way with pot holes here and there on the road, it’s an unbelievable sight! The contractors should be queried on what happened that led to the immature dilapidation of the road.Truck owners and drivers too should be held responsible because since the reconstruction of the road two years ago, the truckers have in their usual manner, turn the facility to their truck park as well as their homes where they defecate and dump all manners of sorts. © 2020, maritimemag.
