HeadlinesOil & Gas NLNG boss lauds Navy for its operational support By maritimemag March 18, 2021 ShareTweet 0 Chinazor Megbolu | The Managing Director, Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG), Mr. Tony Attah, has lauded the Nigerian Navy (NN) for its key support towards ensuring a peaceful atmosphere for the organisation to carry out its operations. He said this during a courtesy visit to the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo, at the Naval Headquarters, Abuja with other senior management officials who accompanied him. Attah, during the visit, said the LNG is a national asset that’s critical to the future of Nigeria especially now that the country is moving away from dependence on crude oil. He also stressed that without the Navy’s effort and support, the NLNG would have found it very hard to operate in the Niger Delta region. Attah, however, used the opportunity to seek for the continued support of the Navy in order to enable the company sustain its operations. Meanwhile, the CNS, Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo, in his remarks, thanked him for the goodwill message he delivered. He stated the NLNG was instrumental in the establishment of the NN Forward Operating Base Bonny. Gambo explained that the Navy is very mindful of the position of the NLNG as a major national asset, hence the security agency’s responsibility to ensure the asset is well protected. He buttressed the Navy will continue to support the Attah -led NLNG by providing a favourable atmosphere for its operations so that business will thrive without any fear.
