CoverHeadlinesKudos or Knocks KUDOS: Hassan Bello Again? By maritimemag May 10, 2020 ShareTweet 0 Shippers' Council loses staff Hassan Bello has done many things that attracted accolades but this time around, he marvelled everyone. An embodiment of humility and one who places life above position, he nails it again. Early this week, the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council led other senior officers of the Council to the house of a staff of the organisation who died while preparing to go to work. The staff, a level 7 officer and driver, Bello did not consider his position or level as a driver, he left the comfort of his office to visit the family of the deceased. This is unprecedented, exemplary and worth emulating. To some CEOs, the death of a level 7 staff does not move them, afterall he was not among the policy makers when he was alive. Afterall, what favour does he stand to get from the family of the poor driver as the CEO. This action by Bello deserves an award. This is the type of action that should attract award and not those going about dishing awards to undeserved persons because of the monetary reward. Bello, this is another feather to your cap. This type of people that have human milk should be given opportunity to serve in higher positions. © 2020, maritimemag. All rights reserved.
