HeadlinesKudos & KnocksKudos or Knocks KNOCK: The unending rehabilitation of port access road By maritimemag May 3, 2020 ShareTweet 0 It is quite unfortunate that the pace of the rehabilitation of the port access road is going as fast as a snail speed. The road which construction started way back in the middle of 2019 is yet to get anywhere close to appreciable stage. The contractors failed to take advantage of the dry season to expedite action on its rehabilitation which is being handled with insolence. Anyway, it may take another 365 days to take action on the road. The contractors should take a cue from Lagos state government who took advantage of the lockdown to repair portions of bad roads in the state. If Lagos government could apply such wisdom, why would a self-acclaimed international company not have a way around such a big project? However, it cannot be established if our government has mobilized the contractors to site. In essence, stakeholders are calling for a quick fix of the road; the agony is becoming highly unbearable. © 2020, maritimemag. All rights reserved.
