In a statement issued on Saturday morning by the Comptroller General of Immigration, Muhammad Babandede, importers, exporters and other stakeholders can now go about their normal activities at the border stations. “The Honourable Minister of Interior, Lt. Gen. (Rtd) Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau CFR PhD has ordered the reopening of all the land borders earlier closed due to the postponement of the elections earlier scheduled for 16’“ February, 2019” “Nigerian Immigration Officers will continue their normal border control and patrol duties to ensure that all persons crossing our land, air and sea borders travel with a valid and genuine document and also pass through recognized routes” The government had earlier shut down the border posts on Friday February 15th because of the presidential elections.
