The Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria(CRFFN) has denied any connection with the acquisition of a N100 Million bonded warehouse in Ozubulu, Anambra state.

Registrar of the Council, Barr. Samuel Nwakohu who spoke with journalists at the 23rd meeting of the council in Lagos said that the bonded terminal project was included in the Council’s  budget in error.

In a budget submitted to the National Assembly recently by the council, a sum of N 100 Million was added as part of projects for the Council.

Our correspondent reports that controversy has since been trailing the inclusion of the project in the budget presented to the national assembly by the council.

Some prominent stakeholders have also accused the Registrar of the council, of being fraudulent with the inclusion of the fund.

But reacting to this, the Registrar of CRFFN, Barrister Samuel Nwakaohu, told journalists in Lagos after the 23rd meeting of the council that the amount was added in error.

Explaining further he said, that procurement of a bonded warehouse is not part of the mandate of the council and therefore has nothing to do with them.

He added that the Council is going to ignore that part of the budget.

“On the issue is Ozobulu bonded terminal project,it was added in the budget in error it has nothing to do with us and it is not part of our mandate”

“I know nothing about it, we have seen it we have discussed it and we are going to ignore it”

The Registrar said that another way to go about that is through corrigendum which according to him is a very long process.

“I am not aware of it, it is dead another way to do it is through what we call corrigendum which is a long process and I don’t want to go that way”

Nwakaohu reiterated that the stuff was added in the budget in error.

“I am sure that thing was put there in error it has nothing to do with us. The bonded warehouse has nothing to do with us”

“Some people had even called me names about that saying I am a fraudster. Where as I know nothing about that” he concluded.
