News CMA CGM, CEVA create bridge between China and France to deliver medical supplies By maritimemag April 11, 2020 ShareTweet 0 CMA CGM, CEVA create bridge between China and France to deliver medical supplies French liner giant CMA CGM and its subsidiary CEVA Logistics are mobilizing their expertise and resources to create a logistical bridge between China and France to deliver medical equipment and help alleviate the national emergency caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The efforts have already resulted in twenty million masks as well as medical supplies to be delivered to France in 4 days via charter planes. The next step will see CEVA Logistics charter two flights every week to fight the COVID-19 pandemic in France. CMA CGM said that the masks and medical supplies transported by the group will be distributed to hospitals, nursing homes, local authorities, and businesses, particularly in retail. CEVA Logistics added it was also contributing to the logistical bridge arranged from China to the United States and to Latin America. “This unprecedented logistical bridge will supply health products to France in a very short time frame, and thereby help confront the current emergency. As a French company with a global presence, it is incumbent upon us to apply all our expertise to help in these times of crisis,” Rodolphe Saadé, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the CMA CGM Group, said. The company has also launched a business continuity pack, offering solutions adapted to the pandemic, such as adjusting the pace of shipments and storing containers in dedicated hubs until a recipient is able to collect them. © 2020, maritimemag.
