The Assciation of Nigeran Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) has accused National Association of Government Approved Freight  (NAGAFF) of engaging in what it described as vile propaganda and misinformation over what it said its desperation to win the forthcoming CRFFN elections.

ANLCA expressed shock over the recent resolution purportedly reached  by the other four registered associations under the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN).

The group in a  statement signed by representatives of the four associations present stated that ANLCA  was invited  but not present  but maintained that  the resolutions were binding on all the five associations.

The resolutions had among other things stated that the fifteen positions available in the Governing Council of CRFFN should be shared among the five associations in the order of their sizes.

It specified that ANLCA and NAGAFF being the two largest associations should take six positions each while Association of Registered Freight Forwarders of Nigeria (AREFFN), National Council of Managing Directors of Customs Licensed Agents (NCMDCLA) and National Association of Air Consolidators and Freight Forwarders (NAFFAC) should take one position each in the Governing Council.

One of the four associations that allegedly signed the statement, AREFFN had however come out to distance itself from such resolutions.

In a letter addressed to the Registrar of CRFFN, Sir Mike Jukwe, the interim National Secretary of the association, Mr. Chidi Anthony Opara, dissociated the association from decisions taken at the Forum.

The letter read, “The Association of Registered Freight Forwarders Nigeria (AREFFN) hereby dissociates herself from the resolution of the “CRFFN Registered Association Forum” of 8th June, 2018.

“Please note that AREFFN does not have “Founder” and “President Emeritus”. Comptroller Chris Banye (rtd.) is not a Trustee of AREFFN and so, cannot be the Chairman of Board of Trustees. The Vice President attended the meeting in a private capacity.

“This is for your guidance and official record purposes”.

Reacting to the forums’ decision, the National Publicity Secretary of ANLCA, Joe Sanni said that the association was neither part of the agreement neither was it binding on it’s members.

He therefore referred to the statement as a mere propaganda and misinformation.

He said, “Thanks for contacting ANLCA through my office. ANLCA was not invited to that meeting in NAGAFF village. However, ANLCA has been monitoring the vile propaganda and the misinformation being dished out by NAGAFF.

“ANLCA was, and still is unperturbed by the resolutions and its intents. ANLCA has been on guard since the CRFFN elections was announced and we have been on top of the game.

“We have always wondered why NAGAFF that boasts of having 10,000 voters and over N100million in their kitty to prosecute the elections is now resorting to a compromise posturing?

“Your response/thoughts is as good as mine. I am disposed to more questions that may arise in due course. Thanks. Joe Sanni- National Publicity Secretary of ANLCA,” he concluded.
