Air Peace has signed an agreement with the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) as the exclusive airline sponsor of the country’s national teams.

This deal is coming ahead of the world cup qualifiers where Nigeria is drawn against Liberia, Cape Verde and the Central African Republic(CAR).

The sponsorship deal which was signed at the Marriot International Hotel, Ikeja GRA, Lagos is for four years with the initial funding at N300,000,000 renewable after a year.

President of Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) Amaju Pennick who came to the signing in the company of Super Eagles stars Alex Iwobi, Tyron Ebuehi, Oghenekaro Etebo and Joe Aribo, said the partnership was apt and Nigerian players will fly to the Cape Verde onboard the airline’s brand new Embraer E195.

Pennick said the N300milion was in both cash and kind which according to him has enabled the NFF to attain 75% self-funding

He said, ” we are happy because Air Peace epitomizes unity, Air Peace epitomizes warmness, Air Peace epitomizes humanity, Air Peace epitomizes nationality and Air Peace is all about 100% safety.”

“We have been approached by many international airlines but we believe in this brand that is now established.

” What we have signed and what we have we will protect it and we will manage it and our dream has always been to be fully independent and with these and other signings, we will get there.

Also speaking, Chairman of Air Peace, Allen Onyema on his own explained that the contract is for four years and is renewable but hoped that the airline would do the four years.

He also charged the Super Eagle to further boost hope in the country by going to Cape Verde and trouncing them and eventually qualifying for the world cup in Qatar.

While responding to this partnership, the President NFF, Amaju Pinnick, said the Air Peace brand epitomise one Nigeria.

According to him, the airline is about safety of passengers and will ensure safety of the players of the national team.

He said, “this is another epoch occasion and we are happy because we are associating with brand that is not only indigenous, the  peace in Air Peace epitomises oneness, epitomises humanity, epitomises nationalism and epitomises patriotism and Air Peace is all about 100 per cent safety of its passengers and everyone associated with it.

“Air Peace is an organisation with a human heart because we all saw what they did two year ago when Nigerians were stranded in South Africa and they did air lift our brothers and sisters back home without any dime from anybody.

“We have noticed their rise very meteorically and we have also noticed that it is an organisation that believes so much in Nigeria and when you see air Peace and the NFF coming together, is only ordained by the God almighty.

“So we are happy and we can tell you is something that we have longed for  and we have decided that we must have this partnership with this super brand and we are happy because the Super Eagle will be flying Air Peace.

“So we thank the management of Air Peace and assure them that whatever we are signing here today we would protect it, project it and we are going to provide for it when necessary but trust me what we are doing here is beyond what we comprehend,” Pinnick said.
