News Western Marine Customs decorates 39 newly promoted By maritimemag May 20, 2018 ShareTweet 0 TAYO OLADIPUPO | The Customs Area Controller (CAC) in charge of Western Marine Command, Comptroller Sarkin Kebbi and his management staff have decorated 39 newly promoted officers at the command. The Comptroller however, charged the promoted officers and men of the command, to see their new ranks as what should spur them to higher productivity. In the statement made available to our correspondent , the CAC charged the promoted officers to see their promotions as a wake up call to higher duties. Among the thirty Nine (39) officers who were promoted, two Superintendents of Customs (SC) were promoted to Chief Superintendent of Customs (CSC), three Deputy Superintendent of Customs (DSC) to Superintendents of Customs (SC), one Assistant Superintendents of Customs (ASCII) to Assistant Superintendents of Customs (ASC1) and Thirty Three (33) Marine Inspectors of Customs (IC) to Assistant Superintendents of Customs(ASCI) The statement read in part, “He charged all officers to sit-up and report any bad thing happening in the creeks and other seas. The CAC told them that they have been rewarded with those new ranks and as such, more is expected from them. He advised them to renew their dedication. The Compt. was particularly happy that most of the marine junior officers have been promoted to the superintendent rank. “Compt. Sarkin-Kebbi, M.M described the process leading to the promotion as credible, transparent and based on merit. Other senior officers in the command charged the promoted officers to bring their new ranks to bear in recording more seizure of smuggled goods through the creeks.
