The electoral body of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) has alerted the public that it has not conducted elections into the chairmanship positions of the Western zones of the association.

This was made known by the chairman of the Association’s Electoral Commission (ASECO), Barr. Raymond Onyimba, in a statement in Lagos, Monday.

ASECO said “This is to inform members of the public and particularly licensed members of our Association, that ASECO under my leadership has not conducted elections of Western zone.

“For further clarification, election in all chapters of Western Zone is still pending.

According to him, the elections were suspended due to security reasons even as he maintained that new date and venue would be communicated to  members of the association after consultation with stakeholders.

In his words, “The conduct of  Election in these  five (5) chapters was suspended due to security concern. A new date and venue will be announced after consultation with relevant stakeholders.

“May all take note that all positions and offices still remain vacant as nobody in our Association can confer any title or position to anybody order than my honourable self and my committee announcing same after conduct of credible Election.

“Our Association is a creation  of Law and will not  accommodate any lawless behaviour from anybody or group.

“It became imperative to clarify   this lacuna because some group of persons unknown to  ASECO  have been  going about  with titles or being addressed   as Chapter Chairman in areas  where  elections are pending . This situation is notorious because it is known by all.

“May I use this opportunity to warn those in habit of addressing these men and women as chapter  chairman because elections have not be conducted in aforementioned areas.

“Nobody no matter how highly placed can usurp our constitutional  responsibility,” he stated
