HeadlinesTransport Two feared dead as NURTW members clash in Lagos By maritimemag April 23, 2022 ShareTweet 0 Segun Oladipupo Two persons are reportedly feared killed as members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) clashed at the Abule-Egba, Ekoro Road, Meiran area of Lagos state. Information reaching our correspondent maintained that members loyal to Istijaba and Musiliu Adesanya popularly called Olu Omo are allegedly at logger heads over failure of former to remit funds to the latter. An eye witness report who called on the masses to stay away from the axis while the fracas lasted, added that two persons had died from the clash. The eye witness who prefers anonymity, said that the clash started early in the morning on Friday and that the place had been deserted.According to him, one of her neighbours got injured while scampering for safety from the sporadic gunshots that overwhelmed the area. But speaking with the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Superintendent (SP) Benjamin Hundeyin, he said it was not true.
