News TRIBUTES ON THE DEATH OF FORMER ANLCA CHAIRMAN By maritimemag May 28, 2018 ShareTweet 0 Tayo Afolabi I Torrents of tributes from Maritime stakeholders as the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) confirms the death of a former chairman, Tincan Island chapter of the association, Prince Kayode Oyinlola. Oyinlola reportedly died this morning but no reason has been advanced for his death. He was last seen at a public event last week where he was said to be looking frail from unknown sickness. He was the immediate past chairman of Tincan chapter of the association before the coming in of Kayode Oduntan in 2016. The Acting president of ANLCA, Dr. Kayode Farinto has directed that condolence registers be opened at both the chapter and the national headquarters of association. In an official statement released by Dr. Farinto, he said, “On behalf of the entire membership of Great ANLCA! Great Professionals!! NECOM wishes to commiserate with the family & members for the death of Prince Dr. Kayode Oyinlola today. “Death, we all know is inevitable. Prince Oyinlola has come and played his own part. In the course of his life, he has positively affected the lives of millions of people across the world. May his gentle soul RIP. Amen. “The acting National President- Dr Kayode Farinto hereby directs the Chairman of Tin Can Chapter – Prince Segun Oduntan to open a condolence register in his chapter, being a former Chairman, and also at the National Secretariat by the National Secretary – Alhaji Mukaila Abdulazeez, being a former NECOM member. Furthermore, the Acting President directs that all ANLCA activities across the nation, be suspended for the next two days. He added that burial arrangements would be communicated to the public as soon as the family of the deceased’s family get in touch with them. Metu Ejike, a member of trustee of Association of Registered Freight Forwarders of Nigeria (AREFFN) and former ANLCA expressed shock on hearing of the death of the former ANLCA stalwart. He said, “What? Oh!, death you have lost it again. Adieu a good man. You lived life to the fullest. You impacted in a very special way. You were stubbornly brave and focused. You were detribalised. I celebrate you today and always. May your soul find solace in the bossom of the LORD. I cannot say good bye. Your memory lives forever in me. Vanity upon vanity. Adieu my Prince. Captain Tajudeen Alao, President, Marine, “May his departed soul rest peacefully in the bosom of the Lord. Amen. And may God continue to comfort his family and practising colleagues left behind. Amen.” Speaking with the National Publicity Secretary of ANLCA, Joe Sanni told our correspondent that the cause of his death could not be immediately ascertained saying it would be communicated as soon as the details emerge.
