HeadlinesNews Tony Nwabunike, ANLCA President, wins APGA primaries in Anambra state By maritimemag October 11, 2018 ShareTweet 0 Tony Nwabunike, the National President Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), has emerged winner in the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Federal House of Representatives primaries in Anambra State. Nwabunike contested the House of Representatives seat in Nnewi North/South and Ekwusigo federal constituency. He is likely to step down as ANLCA President, if he wins the seat in the general elections of February, 2019. The ANLCA National President who in 2011, contested for the slot under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lost the contest. Nwabunike is the pioneer Chairman of the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN). He is also the Chief Executive Officer, Iju Oil Services and CAAL Shipping Line Ltd .He is a board member of Inland Container Nigeria Limited (ICNL) – an inland container depot with operational base in Kano and Kaduna. While reacting on the victory by the licensed customs agents, Secretary General of the association, Alhaji Babatunde Mukaila told newsmen that the outcome of the result was a plus for ANLCA and indeed members. The association scribe maintained that members of the association will continue to rally support for their president for him to attain greater heights. Also, a chieftain of the National Council of Managing Director Licensed Customs Agents (NCMDLCA), Chief Boniface Okoye stated that the victory of the ANLCA President is a victory to all practitioners. He added that Nwabunike victory in Anambra State politics can influence maritime activities in the eastern part of the country if he eventually emerge winner in 2019. Okoye who doubles as the Chairman Executive Officer, Bonntex Nigeria Limited, further called on freight forwarders and licensed customs agents to support the maritime player who can influence government decisions to better the lots of the nation’s maritime industry. © 2018, maritimemag.
