Comrade Erazua Odigie – Oniha, our personality column guest for this week is the Deputy Secretary General, Training, Research, Education and Media of the Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN).
Oniha is a tall, handsome sociable young man full of life and vigour. He mingles with people with ease perhaps because of his background as unionist from his school days.
It will bewilder you to know that this young man chooses local wrestling above football and other modern sports as his favourite.
He is the man in charge of training, media, research and education in MWUN. The office he has held without laxity.

Where are you from?
I am from Iruekpen, Ekpoma, Esan West in Edo state.
What is your favourite food?
Eba, Okro soup and Seameat
What’s your favourite colour?
I don’t really have a favourite colour, I like any color that accentuates my natural color and looks
How do you relax?
Watch a good film, read a book and play with my family
Your designation in MWUN?
Deputy Secretary General, Training, Research, Education and Media (TREM)
How did you get into MWUN?
It was through a recommendation from the Nigeria Labour Congress NLC, due to my antecedent as National President, National Association of Zoology students and Executive of the Centre for Workers Rights
What are the moments you can never forget in your life?
When I lost my Dad and when I married my lovely wife Ojorshimite Erazua – Oniha
What excites You?
Planning and see it come to life in the service of humanity
What is your favourite sport?
I like wrestling because it reminds me of growing up in my rural village Iruekpen Ekpoma where we indulged in wrestling under the soothing glare of the full moon, uncaring of harm amidst laughter of your age mate urging and spurring you on,. The thought of then brings back nostalgic feeling
You are physically attractive, hence women will automatically want to get your attention. How do you cope with women swarming around you?
It’s natural for women to swoop when they meet an attractive man but then this man is taken. So I politely shake my ringed finger to show my marital status. If it persists, I will gently but firmly say a resounding no.
