Many new negative developments are beginning to rear their ugly heads in the Nigerian Maritime space due to inability of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council to effectively tackle issues under its jurisdiction.

There has been several meetings lately over unnecessary withholding container refund deposits paid by Shippers’ to shipping companies.

The last one called ‘Executive Meeting at the instance of the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN), ended without anything to take home

Everyone returned home to face their usual troubles. Why is the Council made Economic Regulator if not to curtail unwarranted charges?

The new Executive Secretary should wake up and tighten all lose ends to avoid the industry crashing under his watch.

It is not enough to visit all agencies and embark on  relevant and irrelevant travels across the country without being efficient in statutory assignment.
