There was palpable air of grief among the stakeholders of freight forwarders at Lagos port following the death of Prince Kayode Oyinlola, the former Chairman of the Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA).

Consequently, all members of ANLCA nationwide have been directed to suspend all activities for two days as a mark of honour to the deceased.

Oyinlola reportedly died Monday morning after a brief illness. As at the time of writing this report, some of his colleagues were too shocked to talk to our correspondent who sought their reactions to the unfortunate incident.

Oyinlola was last seen at the Oodua Maritime Forum meeting held at Amusement park in Apapa last Thursday. He was however looking frail and sick, hence could not leave his vehicle.

In a statement by the National Publicity Secretary of ANLCA, Joe Adumaza Sanni, the ANLCA said the deceased positively affected the lives of millions of people in the association.

Consequently, Acting President of ANLCA, Kayode Farinto, has directed the Chairman of Tin Can Chapter of the association, Segun Oduntan, to open a condolence register in his chapter, because Oyinlola was a former Chairman.

Farinto also directed same at the National Secretariat by the National Secretary – Alhaji Mukaila Abdulazeez, as Oyinlola was also a former NECOM member.

“Furthermore, the Acting President directs that all ANLCA activities across the nation, be suspended for the next two days.

Burial arrangements will be announced in due course” the statement read.

Oyinlola had contested election as Vice President of ANLCA in March 2018 and lost out to Kayode Farinto, the incumbent Vice President of the association.
