A staff of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC), and driver, Muniru Yusuf on Monday slumped and.died in his house while preparing for office.

In a release by NSC Head, Public Relations, Rakiya Zubairu, the family of Oladunjoye and the Management of Nigerian Shippers Council (NSC), announced the transition of Yusuf Muniru at the age of 52.

He was said to have passed, on Monday morning at his home as he was preparing to go to work.

In his tribute, the NSC executive secretary and CEO Barr. Hassan Bello who led a powerful delegation to the house of the deceased, said, “Yusuf was a diligent and ever cheerful colleague who was dedicated to his work.

“Even though he had a history of hypertension and diabetes he was being managed by the Council’s clinic.
“He was looking forward to conveying returning staff to work this morning(Monday) as he had just taken delivery of a new bus. He suddenly took ill in the early hours of today and slumped. It’s a sad loss.
“The Council has made arrangements to support and to counsel the family through this difficult time,”

he promised.

Also paying tribute, Alh. M. Adamu Malgwi, the Assistant Director, General Services, Nigerian Shippers’ Council, remarked,

“Yusuf, popularly known as pastor was a very hard-working and dedicated driver. “Amongst other duties, he conveyed staff on the Iyana-Ipaja route for more than ten years.

“He was allocated a new bus just last Friday and I even had cause to verbally commend him as I was handing over the keys. It is really sad”.

A valued and conscientious staff of the Council, Yusuf who will be sorely missed by his wife Mary Oladunjoye and 5 children as well as his colleagues in the NSC has been buried according to Islamic rites.
