Sambisa Forest: NAF Destroys Boko Haram Logistics Facility

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has said it destroyed logistics facility belonging to the insurgents popularly known as Boko Haram Terrorists (BHTs) at Gujeri in the Sambisa Forest, Borno State.

The security agency explained the operation was done and achievable through the Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation Lafiya Dole.

In a document made available by the NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola at the weekend in Abuja, noted that the feat was achieved in a night-time air strikes executed on pursuant to series of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions.

He pointed out the ISR missions identified some makeshift structures under some trees in the settlement that were being used by the terrorists to store fuel and other items for the maintenance of their vehicles.

” Accordingly, the ATF dispatched its combat helicopters to attack the location recording devastating hits in the target area resulting in the destruction of the storage facilities as well as other structures in the camp,” he said.

He maintained the NAF, operating in tandem with surface forces, would sustain its efforts towards totally destroying all the remnants of the terrorists in the area.
