Speaking at the commissioning of new ground handling equipment acquired from Italy by the company, the Managing Director, SAHCO, Mr. Basil Agboarumi noted that the equipment would improve its services to its clients and further place the company as a leader in the sub-sector. He decried the adverse effect which Covid-19 pandemic has had on ground handling business and the entire aviation industry in the globe. He however said despite the obvious challenges, the firm was able to invest in quality equipment that would add values to its operations. Agboarumi further explained that the huge amount spent on the acquisition of the equipment was beside the clearing of the machines at the seaport. He used the opportunity to seek government’s support for operators in the sector in order to remain in business. He added that the firm has consistently played its part to uplift standards in the sector. “As a ground handler, one of the agreements we signed with our clients is to provide excellent services to them. “To be able to have these equipment, we need staff that are well-trained and we too as a management need to provide them with state-of-the-art equipment. “Since SAHCO was acquired in 2009, the new owners, Sifax Group, have continued to invest in new ground handling equipment. “We got these equipment from one of the best manufacturers in the world and this will add to ground handling business in Nigeria. “Government should continue to support the ground handling companies in the country,” he said. Meanwhile, the Director, Sales and Marketing, SAHCO, Mr. Olaniyi Adigun in his address noted that with the use of the equipment, its level of service delivery would improve. According to him; “the management and board of SAHCO is making the work of Sales and Marketing easier daily.
