CoverHeadlines Railway signal lamp-holders theft, suspect arraigned, pleads guilty By maritimemag February 25, 2020 ShareTweet 0 The suspect who trespassed in the Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC) compound and stole six train signal lamp-holders was, on Monday, arraigned before an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos. Segun Omodara, the defendant facing trial on a three-count charge bordering on trespassing, conspiracy to wit felony and stealing pleaded guilty. The prosecutor, Insp. E. Ita-Ita told the court the defendant committed the offences on Feb. 21, about 5.00 p.m., at Signal and Communication Section, NRC compound, Ebute Meta. Ita alleged that the defendant and others, still at large, had trespassed into the compound and stole six train signal lamp-holders valued at N250,000 belonging to the corporation. Ita-Ita said the offences contravene sections 287, 357 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015. The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Alex Komolafe, ordered that the defendant be remanded at the Ikoyi correctional facility and adjourned the case until March 9 for facts and sentencing. © 2020, maritimemag.
