Ongoing: CRFFN Governing Council Election – Voting commences as participants laud process

Voting into the Governing Council of the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) has started as voters trooped out  to perform their union responsibility.

On ground at the election venue, CRFFN office, Apapa are members of all the five registered associations that make up the membership of the Council.

The five associations include; Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), Association of Registered Freight Forwarders of Nigeria (AREFFN), National Council of Managing Directors of Licensed Customs Agents (NCMDLCA) and National Association of Freight Forwarders and Consolidators (NAFFAC).

 

Recall that the five associations had reached a consensus that ANLCA and NAGAFF would produce six members that would be in the Council because of their sizes while the other three associations are to produce a candidate each.

 

Speaking, the National President of NAGAFF, Uche Increase said that the process had been smooth so far.

He commended the Council for the organisation of the election which he said reflected the change the country has been yearning for in recent time.

Increase admonished members of his association to be professional and conduct themselves in orderly manner as the election progresses.

Also speaking with one of the contestants, Ifeanyi Ekemezie, he said the process was smooth so far, lauding the Council for its good sense of organization.

He however enjoined the Council to empower the youth to bring the best out of them in the transport and logistics business.

Fifteen candidates are vying for the fifteen positions.

Accreditation exercise started at 9.00 this morning and counting of ballot papers is expected to commence immediately after the exercise which ends by 2.00pm while winners are to be sworn in on Friday.
