NLNG identifies natural gas as catalyst for African economic development.

The Nigeria LNG (NLNG) has harped on Africa’s natural gas projects, saying they are crucial to the energy transition and economic development in the region.

The organisation at the weekend explained the project can be used to power industrialisation while reducing the emissions released into the atmosphere.

The General Manager, Production, NLNG, Mr. Leye Falade disclosed this at the ADIPEC Energy Dialogue, noting that natural gas is an integral part of the global energy story accounting for 25 per cent of the global energy that is consumed.

He maintained that with a total proven natural gas resource estimated to be about 600 trillion CFT (ft3), the opportunities for natural gas in Africa are enormous.

Falade hinted that gas is cheaper, cleaner, and more available than the traditional oil forms.

He also added that natural gas can support realistic transitioning to the new energy world order.

Meanwhile, Oando Energy Resources has said it will be projecting the country’s vast gas potentials and attractive opportunities open to investors at the Africa Oil Week (AOW).

The event, which is going to be a gathering of regional and international stakeholders, the oil and gas giant noted that private investors and key government functionaries across Africa, are getting ready to address problems around Africa’s oil and gas challenges.

The organisation maintained that opportunities are abound in the industry in the course of the event will be looked into.

Oando further stated Nigeria is the home to Africa’s largest and most established oil nation as well as several emerging producers.

The oil and gas giant, however, posited that West Africa with a long hydrocarbons history, would feature exemplary indigenous capacities and emerging attractive frontiers available for investors.
