HeadlinesOil & Gas Nigeria LNG Bonny Island Train-6 suffers operational trip By maritimemag June 4, 2020 ShareTweet 0 Chinazor Megbolu Nigeria’s Train-6 liquefied natural gas plant on Bonny Island suffered an operational trip mid-May Nigerian LNG has said. The organisation in a brief statement, noted that the operational trip resulted to loss of power at the plant in a temporary situation. The NLNG explained that there was no injury or damage to the asset when the operational trip happened. The statement hinted that power was restored within two hours of the outage at the site. NLNG further noted that relevant authorities and stakeholders has been informed as part of the protocol for managing such incidents. The statement reiterated that on May 13, 2020, the NLNG signed the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts for its Train 7 project with the SCD JV Consortium, comprising units of Saipem, Chiyoda and Daewoo. The contract, the statement disclosed shows that all the conditions for a final investment decision to build the new production unit have been met, which also includes financing. The new unit, the statement said will add around 8 million tonnes per annum of capacity to the Bonny Island facility, taking the total to around 30 mtpa. © 2020, maritimemag. All rights reserved.
