He was picked by the minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi who said that he wanted who he could work with. He brushed aside the mild protest from other council members who said the Chairman and his Vice should emerge through an electoral process as provided by the Act of the Council. However, Henry Njoku, the former ANLCA board chairman defeated Increase Uche, the President of National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders ( NAGAFF ) by 21 votes to eight.
