By maritimemag July 24, 2019 ShareTweet 0 Tayo Oladipupo | The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) on Tuesday, disbursed a total of N4.3 Million to the family of Late Comrade Francis Isaac, a former Vice President General under the leadership of Comrade Emmanuel Noted. Late Comrade Isaac who passed on the 15th January, 2019 ,was also a former Treasurer, Dockworkers Branch of the union. Speaking during the presentation of cheque to the family led by the wife of the deceased, President General of MWUN, Comrade Adewale Adeyanju reiterated the union’s commitment towards the welfare of members. The MWUN boss averred that the sum was a token from the union as a support for the family even as he stated that the money cannot be equated with the life of the deceased who was a committed member of the union. Adeyanju noted that the Late Comrade Isaac was dedicated, committed to union activities, adding that the union will continue to support the family in all ramifications. The union boss who doubles as a Trustee of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), explained that his leadership style was centred around workers welfare, urging the family of the deceased to move on with their lives . He added that the union has always been of support to members in one way or the other saying that is the crux of the group. As a union committed to the welfare of its members, the union recently embarked on three days strike in a fight for dock workers owed by International Oil Companies (IOCs). © 2019, maritimemag.
