CoverHeadlinesKudos & Knocks Lagos brings Uber to water transportation By maritimemag October 12, 2019 ShareTweet 0 Kudos to Lagos state government for the inauguration of water taxi service in Lagos, Friday. Babajide Sanwo-Olu in company of Engineer Sarat Lara Briamah, Area Manager, Lagos, National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) flagged off the taxi service at Falomo. This service will be operated like uber taxi service operated on land. This service, no doubt will help a great deal to beat vehicular traffic as well as avoid waiting for a ferry to fill up before taking off. Px: Engineer Sarat Lara Briamah, Area manager Lagos National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) with Lagos State governor Babajide Sanwo-olu at the flag off Uber water taxi service at Falomo This is another first introduced by Lagos state as a panacea to gridlock on the roads in Lagos state especially this rainy season. However, this is not a good reason for Sanwo-Olu to leave Lagos roads in bad state. Most roads in Lagos are not motorable especially since the beginning of torrential rainfall. Something should be done because commercial drivers have taken advantage of the situation to increase fares © 2019, maritimemag. All rights reserved.
