CoverKudos & Knocks Kudos: Osamgbi, a Public Affairs Manager of repute. By maritimemag August 3, 2019 ShareTweet 0 Despite his vices, Isichie Osamgbi, the Deputy Director, Public Relations of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), displayed a rare sense of humanitarian gesture with his attendance of the burial rites of Chief Ubon Akpan in far away Akwa Ibom state. This platform was pleasantly surprised at this gesture that despite his busy schedule , Osamgbi could still make out time to personally attend the solemn event. This gesture is applauded for putting all other engagements on hold to pay the last respect to the late maritime journalist. This is not the first time Osamgbi will show such solidarity to journalists in such situation. He has been seen at the burial of relations of journalists as well as birthday, naming ceremonies. This is a good gesture that cannot be wished away. However, Osamgbi should try as much as possible to extend same benevolence to younger journalists. As much as this attitude is welcomed by all, he should not be selective in his choice of who to relate with. This platform gives the NIMASA image maker a big pat on the back. © 2019, maritimemag.
