HeadlinesKudos & KnocksPorts Management Kudos and Knocks: Port security or port toll collectors? By maritimemag July 21, 2019 ShareTweet 0 Some stakeholders expressed fear over the week that the era of pilfering containers in the port has returned. Some people are not surprised because security at the port gates in Lagos is nothing but self service. A close watch has shown that NPA security men, officers of the Nigerian Police and other security agents have turned the port gate to tolls collection point. All manner of people now enter the port as long as you have something in your hand to part with. The dare devils carry out this ignominious act in the open, not minding who is watching. The confidence they exude would make one conclude that there is a senior officer backing them up otherwise, stealing should be a hidden business. No wonder wharf rats are back in the port. A word is enough for the wise. © 2019, maritimemag. All rights reserved.
