CoverHeadlinesKudos & Knocks Knocks: Sanwo-Olu promise on Apapa gridlock, a farce By maritimemag August 3, 2019 ShareTweet 0 The way Olusola Sanwo-Olu, governor of Lagos State rushed to visit Apapa on the day of his inauguration, one would think that traffic and heaps of dirts in the port city would have been a thing of the past by now. Stakeholders had commended him for the move only to come out later to rescind his 60 days promise of putting an end to Apapa gridlock. That said, the heap of dirts in Apapa is becoming worrisome. A town renowned for abode of elites has suddenly turned a city full of litters of faeces and stench of urine. The state government should do something before the stench and attendant epidemic compound the woes of port users and the dwellers of the town. Come to think of it that people buy and sell cooked foods within the dirty environment. Not every one can afford the costly Apapa restaurant foods, hence the lives of the people patronising the road side food vendors are at the danger of dirty environment. © 2019, maritimemag.
