For months now, the Registrar has been appointed and governing council in place yet it is invisible. The only flash we got from the council was the reported distribution of cars to some committee heads for ease of operation. The Council also went to Dubai for a training that can be carried out in Nigeria. Is this a way to make quick money? Ideally, hearing that vehicles have been given to ease operation, one would think it is about to commence operation. Months down the line, nothing has been heard from the Council leadership. As a regulatory agency, what happens to the sector it is assigned to regulate? Anyway, freight forwarders say they don’t miss the council as nothing is affected by its absence. We call on the new leaders to learn fast and catch up with trends. You cannot be collecting salaries without working for it. © 2019, maritimemag. All rights reserved.
