By maritimemag July 13, 2019 ShareTweet 0 Tayo Oladipupo Despite lockdown on the road due to perennial gridlock at the Trinity axis of the Apapa/Oshodi Expressway way, the Kirikiri Lighter Terminal of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has generated the sum of five billion, nine hundred and ninety two million, fifty seven thousand seven hundred and seventy naira (N5,992,057,770.00) in the first half of the year, 2019. The generated revenue represents 59.2 percent of its total revenue target for the year, 2019. The figure shows a 20.3 percent increase over the dum generated within same period in 2018. The Controller of the command, Comptroller Moronike Oladunni had established a robust relationship with stakeholders hence, increase compliance by stakeholders. Other factors that led to increase in revenue generation at the command include 100 percent cargo examination, effective use of the NICIS 2 programme, blockage of all avenues of revenue leakage. While commending importers and agents for patronising the command despite the gridlock on the road, Comptroller Oladunni also enjoined all stakeholders to comply with all extant laws, desist from concealment or false declaration of items.
