Bodies of the three remaining victims of the unfortunate boat accident involving a popular Nollywood actor, Junior Pope have been recovered by the Marine Police of Anambra State Command.

Two of the bodies were recovered on Thursday, 11th April, while the last was washed in by the tide Friday morning.

According to a statement issued to Journalists in Awka, on Friday by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, all the bodies have been deposited in a hospital mortuary in Asaba while the President of the Guild of Actors and Actresses has been notified of the recovery.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Aderemi Adeoye, has urged all water commuters to be safety conscious and avoid behaviour that may jeopardise their safety and that of others while on transit on water.

He promised an expedited investigation into the sad accident that claimed the lives of five actors and crew members.

He also commended the Command’s Marine Unit and its Commander for their dedication to duty.

Meanwhile, the makeup artist Abigail Frederick, who drowned in the boat accident, was buried by the riverside because the family couldn’t afford the money to perform sacrifices.

The makeup artist who drowned with Junior Pope on 10th April 2024 was buried later that night, 11th April 2024.

Abigail was reportedly laid to rest at the riverbank because her father lacked the funds required to perform the necessary rituals for her body to be transported back home to Akwa Ibom State.

The movie producer Stanley Ontop has revealed that the body of the makeup artist has been recovered and buried.

Movie director Moses Eskor claimed her father could not provide the money needed for some traditional rites to get her body shipped back to her home state.

Although they tried to raise some money, it was not enough.
