HeadlinesPorts Management Group to honour maritime personalities at annual sailors night By maritimemag December 11, 2020 ShareTweet 0 Peter Olaniyi Merchant Seafarers Association of Nigeria (MESAN) is set to honour deserving maritime personalities at it’s 2020 Sailors night billed to hold on Saturday 12th of December 2020. According to the Secretary- General of the association, Capt Alfred Oniye, the theme for this year’s Sailors Night is “Unfolding Maritime Investment Opportunities ” He informed that a frontline master mariner, martime expert and renowned lecturer, Capt Fola Ojutalayo would be confered with an “Outstanding Award of a Role Model” at the event. Other personalities to be honoured at the event are; President of Association of Tourist Boat Operators and Water Transporters of Nigeria (ATBOWATON) Dr. Ganiyu Tarzan Shekoni Balogun and Barrister Jiti Ogunye, Principal Partner, Jiti Ogunye Chambers. He further informed that apart from conferring awards on deserving personalities, Capt Oniye said the event would be used to unveil the Sailors Estate Project, and the Inauguration of Ship and barge Construction Project. “Other programs of the Night include; Inauguration of Sail Navy Business Group, Outstanding Award of Role Model and the Business Seminar” The MESAN Secretary General, also said “The Sailors’ Night” is not just about feeling good, drinking and back slapping, but also a means of exploring the intellectual content of seafaring with the Business Seminar. © 2020, maritimemag.
