Freight Forwarders set on Western Zone Tour, acquires new office in Lagos.

The National leadership of the Association of Registered Freight Forwarders, Nigeria (AREFFN) has stated that it would commence a familiarisation tour of the government agencies, associations and stakeholders in the Western Zone of the Country.

The western zone comprises Lagos, Ogun, Osun, Ondo and Oyo states, among others.

The National President of the association, Alhaji Bala Lawan Daura, has fixed the tour for the month of October, 2018, to visit all the chapters and stakeholders.

The group also disclosed that the national secretariat of the association has been relocated from Ibafon to Coker along Apapa Oshodi expressway Lagos.

The freight forwarders among the registered associations under the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) which recently concluded its tour of the stakeholders in the eastern zone noted that the western zone plays a significant role in freight forwarding practice.

The National Secretary of AREFFN, Chidi Anthony Opara, in a statement made available to newsmen in Lagos yesterday, disclosed that during the eastern tour, the AREFFN President reiterated the resolve of the association to assist in trade facilitation and other objectives of the government in the subsector.

The AREFFN President also reiterated the association’s policy of synergy with sister associations for peace in the subsector.

He said, “Accompanying the AREFFN President on the tour were the National Secretary, Comrade Chidi Anthony Opara, the Eastern secretary, Hon. Ebere Ekwem, Chairman(Onne Chapter), Chief Gabriel Okonkwo, Chairman (Port Harcourt seaport chapter), Chief Kerian Uzowuru and others.

“The Eastern Zone Coordinator and other National Executive members were unavoidably not on the entourage”, the statement further explained.

The scribe of the association who disclosed this said “We have finalized payment of rent and soonest, the signpost would be mounted, furnishings done and an admin secretary employed.”
