FG shops for new CRFFN Registrar as Jukwe retires

The Federal government has declared the office of the Registrar/Chief Executive Officer, Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding of Nigeria (CRFFN) vacant as the Sir Mike Jukwe, the incumbent Registrar, is set for retirement

According to a reliable source, deadline for the application for the vacant position will end by December 2018, even as it added that the “Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria(CRFFN) is recruiting for full-time Registrar /CEO. ”

The source further explained that “The Registrar is the Chief Executive Officer of the Council and the Secretary to the Governing Council.

“As Chief Executive Officer, the Registrar is responsible for the day to day administration of the Council.

According to the CRFFN Act, Section 11(1) No 16 of 2007, “The Council shall, appoint a fit and proper person to be the Registrar for the purpose of this Act…” who shall hold a minimum of HND or Bachelors degree with 15 years cognate experience.

Recall that during the inauguration of the governing council in Abuja, the Minister of Transportation, Mr. Rotimi Ameachi reminded the Registrar of the Council, Sir Mike Jukwe that his tenure had elapsed.

The Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) was established by the CRFFN Act No. 16 of 2007 and charged with the responsibility of among others to regulate and control the practice as well as organize and structure the activities of persons, organizations and associations operating the freight forwarding business.

The Council is a Regulator and also Revenue Generating Agency of the Federal Government supervised by the Federal Ministry of Transportation.

Our reliable sources from the council further disclosed that the erstwhile Registrar had concluded his documentation for retirement.

Sir Jukwe who spent about ten years as the Registrar of CRFFN had running battles with some of the freight forwarders over the usual sit tight syndrome in office and alleged misappropriation of the Council funds.
