PEBEC was established in 2016 to remove critical bottlenecks affecting ease of doing business in Nigeria, to allow the private sector unleash its full potential and is chaired by the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo. It was also to make the country an easier place to start and grow a business. PEBEC was supported by Executive Order 001 (EO1) signed in 2017 to promote transparency and efficiency in the business environment. PEBEC has also undertaken to drive EO1’s six directives, which aim to address specific limitations identified in the civil and public service systems. Oduwole who is also PEBEC Secretary said: “REPORTGOV.NG website or the mobile App makes it easy for you to resolve issues you encounter when dealing with government agencies and get a feedback within 72 hours at the latest. “When you file a complaint and tell your story, you contribute to federal enforcement, service delivery and public protection efforts on a national level and help us identify trends and track the issues that matter to the citizens. When you give feedback or file a complaint, you contribute to continuous improvement in service delivery and public protection efforts on a national level” she said. She noted that the app will further help to increase overall efficiency of the government and its parastatals, bring any criminal closer to justice, help deter others from violating people’s rights or comfort and ultimately help make business easier. © 2019, maritimemag.
