The Minister, Dr Zainab Ahmad, explained that the purpose was for the customs law in the respective territories to be properly observed to prevent and enhance investigation to combat offenses. She said it was also meant to afford each country mutual assistance in cases concerning the delivery of documents regarding the application of customs laws. The Minister said it would enhance co-operation between Nigeria and South Africa, especially through the Africa Continental Free Trade Agreement. According to Zainab Ahmed, the ratification will also help to increase trade relations between the two countries and facilitate the exchange of information, as well as strengthen binational cooperation. © 2022, maritimemag.
