The drivers and other occupants of the two cars – a salon car and a Toyota Highlander – escaped unhurt as they dashed out of the vehicles before the container crushed them. The accident happened in front of the Sea School, close to Liverpool roundabout on the busy Creek Road. An eyewitness said, “The truck with a fully loaded container on it lost control due to the deplorable state of Apapa and the ongoing construction of the Wharf Road and the incessant rush to get into the port for quick loading and stumbled and eventually led to the total damage of two cars. The occupants of the car narrowly escaped death by running out of the vehicle prior fallen of the container.” © 2018, maritimemag. All rights reserved.
