A source close the Service confided in our correspondent that the redeployment takes immediate effect. The source revealed that except for three commands in, Port Harcourt, KIrikiri Lighter Terminal and Tincan Island commands, all other commands are affected by the change. The Public Relations Officer of Apapa, Nkiru Nwala will now resume at the Western Zone headquarter as the PRO, while Okwara Ngozi will resume in Tincan as the second in command to Superintendent Ejesieme Uche. Jerry Attah of Federal Operations Unit Zone A will be redeployed to the North. According to the source, the Airport, PTML, Seme, among others are all affected by the new postings. The National Public Relations Officer of the Service, Deputy Comptroller Joseph Attah is said to be in charge of the redeployment of officers under his unit. The practice had been that redeployment of commands’ PROs used to be ratified by the Comptroller General but since Col. Hameed Alli rtd took over, the responsibility became that of the NPRO. As at the time of filing this report, the National Public Relations Officer was yet to respond to the text message he requested our correspondent to send to his mobile number.
