The Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Maritime Police Command, Lagos, AIG Olofu Adetutu Rhoda has urged members of his management and other Senior Officers of Maritime Command Headquarters to ensure a seamless “ease of doing business” among others.

AIG Olofu made the call during a meeting with the officers in her office during the week.

In a statement by the Command’s Ag. Police Public Relations Officer, ASP EHINMODE Rowland Adewumi, the AIG called on the officers to be alive to their responsibilities by carrying out their duties within the ambit of the law, thereby making the ports environment safer for the operators and stakeholders.

The statement contained further that the AIG particularly enjoined the officers to proffer lasting solutions to cases of port congestion and terminal gridlocks, emplace new policing techniques to curb the activities of miscreants and wharf rats, deployment of adequate Police personnel and cutting-edge tools for visibility policing and to clear the port corridors of all illegal checkpoints, hoodlums and other criminal elements hindering the free flow of business within and around the ports and terminals.
