The, organisation during the event held in different locations in Lagos, expended the sum of N7.6 million to cater for 5 orphanage homes and the less privileged. The Human Resource Manager, LCM, Prince Ifalade Oyekan said the occasion was a continuation of its yearly corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme towards celebrating Christmas and putting smiles on their faces and joy in their hearts. He also noted that it was the least they could do, in furtherance of their belief on putting smiles on the faces of low privileged Nigerians. Oyekan, however, explained the initiative, which started in 2008, had dedicated itself to making 5 homes benefitting on a yearly basis. He stated that the idea took another dimension in 2018 when the organisation decided to accommodate heavy projects like; construction school buildings, toilet facilities, procurement of chairs, recreational facilities amongst others. The beneficiaries of the largesse are; Gurjiya Lambaya Orphanage care, Iyaniwura Children Care Foundation, Al-Umma Orphanage, Love Home Orphanage and School for the Deaf. © 2019, maritimemag.
