According to the Cameroon Army, armed forces personnel have recovered three deceased passengers. A total of 107 passengers are said to have survived the incident. A search and rescue operation for a yet-to-be-determined number of passengers is still underway. The Norway-built ferry Austrheim was en route from Calabar, Nigeria, to Cameroon at the time of the accident.
