NewsOil & Gas Dangote refinery will boost downstream oil sector – LCCI By maritimemag October 23, 2018 ShareTweet 0 The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry has said the Dangote Group’s oil refining and petrochemical project will lead to the transformation of the downstream sector of the nation’s oil and gas industry. The President, LCCI, Mr Babatunde Ruwase, described the project as massive and a game changer for the industry. Ruwase, who led members of the chamber on a tour of the Dangote jetty, refinery and fertiliser plants in Lagos, expressed excitement over the pace of work at the site. He commended the President/Chief Executive, Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, for his investment in Africa, saying, “Dangote’s patriotism remains unparalleled when it comes to investment and that his investments in many sectors have been a key factor behind Nigeria’s improving economy. “Dangote is doing so much to positively impact the lives of Nigerians through the production of household products.” He said the Dangote oil refinery project would help to curb the country’s dependence on importation of petroleum products. Ruwase stated, “This project is the first of its kind. There is no investor in Nigeria who has developed the courage to come up with such a gigantic project. From what we have seen today, we now have a better perception about the project.” © 2018, maritimemag. All rights reserved.
