Headlines Dana Air grounds aircraft on runway excursion at Lagos airport By maritimemag April 24, 2024 ShareTweet 0 By Abiodun OBA Dana Air Aircraft, registration number SN BKI, flying from Abuja to Lagos which overshot runway on landing at the local wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport on Tuesday has been grounded for further investigation. The airline, in a statement said, “We are relieved to confirm that all 83 passengers and crew onboard the flight disembarked safely without injuries or scare as the crew handled the situation with utmost professionalism”. Dana Air said it had also updated the Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) and the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) on the incident. “We wish to thank the airport authorities, our crew for their very swift response in ensuring the safe disembarkation of all passengers following the incident and our sincere apologies and appreciation to the passengers on the affected flight for their patience and understanding. “We wish to reassure our passengers that their safety will always be our top priority, and we are cooperating fully with the relevant authorities to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident,” Dana Air said. There was pandemonium on Tuesday morning as Dana Air overshot the runway on landing. It was gathered that the plane on landing at the Lagos Airport RW18L, skidded off the runway probably due to poor braking action and flooded runway.
