According to the press statement by the Service and signed by its National Public Relations Officer, Deputy Comptroller Timi Bomodi, the agency received the sad news, which occurred Monday from the family of the deceased. “It is with great sadness that we received the announcement of the demise of Comptroller Danlami Haruna by his family. ” Until his death, he was the Customs Area Controller of Bauchi/Gombe Command. “He passed away on Monday 30th of May, 2022 after a brief illness at National Hospital Abuja. He was aged 59. “Comptroller Danlami Haruna hailed from Donga Local Government Area of Taraba state. ” He held a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography from Bayero University Kano and was enlisted into the Nigeria Customs in 1990 as cadet Assistant Superintendent. “Comptroller Haruna took over the mantle of leadership of the Command on June, 21st, 2021. “He had an outstanding career as a General Duty Officer. As Comptroller, he served as Area Controller Plateau/Benue/Nasarawa Command and Zonal Office Kaduna before his last posting as Area Controller Bauchi/Gombe Command. “He is survived by a wife and and three children. “The Comptroller General of Customs Col. Hameed Ali (rtd), and the entire Officers and men commiserate with the family and friends of Late Comptroller Danlami Haruna. ” May God grant the family and loved ones the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss” the service said in its statement. © 2022, maritimemag.
