Headlines CRFFN Sets to Sanitize Freight Forwarding Industry By maritimemag November 25, 2018 ShareTweet 0 By ZION Olalekan The Council of Registered Freight Forwarding of Nigeria (CRFFN) is poised to sanitise the freight forwarding industry, it’s chairman, governing board, Alhaji Tsani Abubakar, has said. Speaking during a visit to the Maritime Reporters Association of Nigeria (MARAN) press centre in Lagos on Friday, he stressed that the council is more concerned with how to regulate and sanitise the industry. According to Abubakar, the council is concerned with how to give freight forwarders sound training that will enhance their jobs. He promised to do his best with his team to move freight forwarding practice to higher level. He demanded for the support of the press even as he promised to equally give support to journalists. He craved for MARAN’s support and contributions in order for his administration to succeed. Responding to question on foreigners’ participation in freight forwarding business, the President of National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) and a member of the board, Chief Uche Increase said the council will seriously look into the issue of foreign participation in the industry with a view to stopping it. Increase however explained that foreigners can involve in logistics and other aspects of freight forwarding except Customs brokerage. He stated that the council will address the issue frontally and stop foreigners from involvement in Customs clearing. Increase also hinted that issues on the Practitioners Operating Fee (POF) will soon be resolved as it will be the live wire of the Council. © 2018, maritimemag. All rights reserved.
