CRFFN Registrar finally unveiled; assumes office

The Chairman of the Governing Council of the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN), Alhaji Tsanni Abubakar has announced the appointment of Barrister Nwakohu Samuel as the new Registrar/ Chief Executive Officer of the Council.

Speaking during a Session of the Governing Council members meeting recently in Abuja, Alhaji Tsanni said that his appointment was made in line with the provisions of Section 11 sub-section (1) of the CRFFN Act Number 16 of 2007 which endeared the Governing Council with powers to appoint substantive Registrar/CEO to oversee the administrative activities of the Council as when due.

He, on behalf of the Council members charged the new CRFFN Chief Executive to work towards justifying the confidence reposed on him by the Federal Government and Council through his initiation of programs that will reposition the Freight Forwarding profession to an enviable height.

He re-affirmed the readiness of the Federal Ministry of Transportation under the Leadership of the Honourable Minister of Transportation, Rt. Honourable Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi and that of Governing Council to provide enabling environment and support for the actualization of the mandate of the Council.

In his acceptance speech during the session, the newly appointed CRFFN Boss, Barrister Nwakohu Samuel expressed appreciation to the Federal Government and Governing Council for granting him the opportunity to serve the nation in such capacity and pledged his resolve to the accomplishment of the mandate of the Council in line with the enabling Act.

Barrister Nwakohu Samuel was until his appointment an accomplished Barrister at Law, Versatile Business Entrepreneur with over 30 years working experience attending to clients in key sectors of the Nigerian economy, ranging from, Oil & Gas, Banking, Information Technology, Insurance, Security and Pharmaceuticals.

He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), International Bar Association (IBA), and Common Wealth Business Council (CBC).

Meanwhile, the Registrar of the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN), Barrister Nwakohu Samuel has expressed the desire of his administration to work towards the development of the Freight Forwarding industry in line with the Act establishing the Council.

He made the assertion recently in his maiden speech to the Management and Staff of the Council on his assumption of duty at the Council’s Headquarters Marina, Lagos.

He expressed his delight to work with the staff of the Council whom he described as family members and commended their patience and sacrifices made in the past that kept the Council moving.

He assured the staff of the provision of necessary working tools for the discharge of their duties and solicited their cooperation and support in efforts to move the Council Forward.

In his speech during the occasion, the Chairman of CRFFN Governing Council, Alhaji Tsanni Abubakar re-affirmed the commitment of the Federal Ministry of Transportation under the leadership of Honourable Minister of Transportation, Rt. Honourable Rotimi Chubuike Amaechi and the Governing Council to provide enabling environment and support that will aid in achieving desired results.

He therefore solicited the cooperation and support of the staff to the new CRFFN Chief Executive and urged them to eschew acts inimical to the progress of the Council.

Also speaking at the occasion, a member of the Governing Council, Alhaji Moshood Tijani enjoined the staff to shun distractions and acts capable of retarding the progress of the Council and be loyal to the new regime.

In his vote of thanks at the occasion, the former Acting Registrar and Director of Regulation and Enforcement of the Council, Mr. Opara Basil on behalf of the Management and Staff of the Council expressed delight over the appointment of the new CRFFN Boss and pledged the unalloyed support and cooperation of the entire staff to the Registrar.

In attendance at the occasion were some key Governing Council members, the NAGAFF President, Chief Increase Uche, and Alhaji Moshood Tijani amongst others.
