CoverHeadlinesNewsPorts Management CRFFN finally holds council elections Saturday? By maritimemag July 3, 2018 ShareTweet 0 At last, the election of Freight Forwarding Practitioners into the Governing Council of the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) now holds this Saturday July 7, 2018. The election has suffered two previous controversial postponements which had unsettling effects on the contestants. The election was earlier scheduled to hold last Friday. A statement by the Registrar and Chief Executive of the Council, Mike Jukwe stated that the election which will commence by 9am on Saturday 7th July, 2018, will take place at the Freight Forwarders’ Headquarters (CRFFN OFFICE), Apapa, Lagos. He also disclosed that accreditation of eligible voters would take place at 9am each day on Thursday 5th July to Friday 6th July, 2018 at the Council Headquarters, Apapa, same venue for the election. Mrs Uromta Chinyere, head of the Corporate Affairs of the Council quoted Jukwe to have expressed his profound gratitude to the industry stakeholders for their co-operation and re-affirmed the commitment of the Council for a successful election. With the rescheduled election, the frayed nerves of the agitated contestants are expected to be assuaged as some of them have started to suspect foul play and subterranean moves by some powerful forces to scuttle the electoral process. Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, Founder of National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF ) had earlier warned of direct consequences if what he described as the will of the generality freight forwarders is subverted. © 2018, maritimemag.
