Compt. Adamu harps on discipline as he takes over at Niger/Kogi command

Comptroller A M Adamu has harped on discipline among officers and men of the Niger/Logo command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) as he assumed office as the new Controller of the command

In a statement by Deputy Superintendent of Customs (DSC) Emmanuel Tangwa, the new Controller took over from the outgoing controller, W A Dappa in a brief handing over ceremony which took place in the Controller’s office.

The statement maintained that the antecedents of the new Controller in enforcemt duties prompted the Comptroller General of the Service to post him to the new command

Compt. Adamu had served in various capacities as the O/C Lagos Roving under FOU Zone ‘A’, Deputy Comptroller in-charge of Enforcement for Western Marine Command-Ibafon Apapa-Lagos, Deputy Compt. in-charge of HQ Strike Force team in Zone ‘C’, Deputy Compt. at the Tincan Island Port in charge of the main gate before his new posting.

Text of the release, “Today, Monday 14th February, 2022 Comptroller AM ADAMU takes over from Comptroller WA DAPPA as the new Customs Area Controller for Niger/Kogi Area Command, one of the largest Command of the Nigeria Customs Service by land mass.

“Compt. AM ADAMU is a house-hold name in the Nigeria Customs Service as Enforcement duties are concerned. His antecedents in Enforcement duties beacon on the CGC and his management to post him to Niger/Kogi Area Command.

“Until his appointment, Compt. Adamu has served as the O/C Lagos Roving under FOU Zone ‘A’, Deputy Comptroller in-charge of Enforcement for Western Marine Command-Ibafon Apapa-Lagos, Deputy Compt. in-charge of HQ Strike Force team in Zone ‘C’, Deputy Compt. at the Tincan Island Port in charge of the main gate.

“In a brief handing and taking over ceremony that took place in the CAC’s office, the outgoing Customs Area Controller, Compt. WA DAPPA welcomed his friend and colleague Compt. AM ADAMU to Niger/Kogi Area Command, congratulating him on his new appointment.

Compt. Dappa thanked officers and men of the Command for the cooperation accorded him and urged them to give even more to the new Comptroller. In his last words to Compt. Adamu, Dappa said, Niger/Kogi Area Command is a place to work as a COMPTROLLER in the Nigeria Customs Service.

“Comptroller AM ADAMU on his part thanked the out-going Comptroller and commended him for the laudable work he has heard and seen in the Command.

The new boss promised to consolidate on CAC Dappa’s achievements and called on officers and men to accord him same cooperation they gave Compt. WA DAPPA. Compt. ADAMU said discipline will be his main concern and anti-smuggling activities shall be pursued vigorously.”
